We have lived in this house for a little over three years now and on Friday I discovered something about my house that I never noticed before. We have an outlet on our basement ceiling. What the??? Actually, on Friday it functioned as more of a faucet than an outlet which is how I discovered its existence.
Thanks to a broken hose bib (I think) and a son spraying friends on Friday, our basement carpet and couch was nicely soaked with water from above and from the side through the ceiling outlet and a wall outlet.
Listening to the fans for the last three days it sounds like an airplane in the basement and I keep wondering when the plane is finally going to land.
But fortunately the walls will not have to be torn out and only a small section of the ceiling was removed. A lot of the padding was taken out but the carpet is fine. Whew! It could have been much worse.
