Airplane Races

So Brett calls from work and says "can we do something fun for Family night?" (meaning... when you're in charge, Family night isn't fun).  "What do you suggest?" I ask. (meaning... I'm offended and you're on your own mister!!!!)  "I don't know.... but something fun" (meaning.... I didn't really have an idea of what to do.... you're supposed to come up with something).  In reality, if you want something fun you don't let the parents plan it, you let the kids come up with the idea...which they did.

So while I made supper, Brett made paper airplanes for the boys which they happily decorated....

And flew around the house.

If you weren't careful you became a casualty of my three-year-old's well-aimed throws...

I, myself took a paper airplane in the forehead four times while taking pictures.

The evening ended with paper airplane races down the hall.  Each boy ended up with a turn to win with their plane.  Notice the row of shoes.... it isn't a sign of disarray in my home although I don't have the tidiest of homes... you couldn't pass the shoes as you made your throw.

My six-year-old would have won twice except that my large head sticking out of the bathroom door was taking pictures and blocked his plane effectively shooting it down.  Needless to say, he was not happy and said "mom!!!! why can't you take pictures over here by us!!!!!"  Ooops!!!

Sounds like you guys had a great time last night. I'm glad there weren't too many casualties.

What a fun family night! Sorry to hear you made up for 4 on the casualty count. You are such a fun mom. I'll have to keep this idea in mind.
